View our coursesYes. You must Demonstrate strong drawing abilities, with a portfolio showcasing artistic talent. This will be assessed by our team at the academy upon application.
You must be 18 or older to be accepted at the Jay Hutton Tattoo Academy.
No. You will not be tattooing any person as it is illegal to tattoo anybody without a registered tattoo license. You will be practicing your skills and improving your technique on fake skin.
We hold courses every month throughout the year. Once you have applied and been accepted by the academy you will be sent course dates via email to book on.
We hold 6 – 8 spaces on each course so Jay and Dan can give each student the necessary time and attention needed.
The course will start at 9am and end between 4pm/5pm.
The course will take place at Jay’s Adrenaline Tattoo Studio in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
There is a local travel lodge nearby in Ellesmere Port or Chester City is 20 minutes from the tattoo studio and has multiple hotels available.
A packed lunch is advised as there will be a half an hour break for lunch around midday. However there is a cafe 2 doors down from the studio and there is also a Morrisons supermarket across the road.
You can apply by clicking the “Apply Now” button on our website and sending your artwork in for assessment by our team.
Once you have applied, a member of our team will be in touch within 48 hours.
Students who show real potential may be offered an opportunity to work for Jay although this is not guaranteed.
Regardless, we offer 6 months mentoring and support after course completion as long as you have been approved by your local health authority for a Tattoo license.
No tattoo equipment is required. We provide machines and all stock required to complete the course.
